The Trump Organization, an American privately-owned conglomerate owned by Donald Trump, aims to invest in building a hotel, golf course, and recreational complex in Vietnam’s northern province of Hung Yen.
A delegation of the American business made the suggestion at a Monday meeting with provincial authorities.
Urging Hung Yen province to support the initiative, The Trump Organization highlighted its strengths in those sectors. The business’s contribution to Hung Yen growth can boost the Vietnam-U.S. comprehensive strategic partnership, it added.
Emphasizing Hung Yen’s advantages, Nguyen Huu Nghia, a Central Party Committee member and Party chief of Hung Yen, said the province is pushing transport infrastructure projects to improve its connectivity with the capital city of Hanoi and the Red River Delta.
Hung Yen is also under a master plan to soon become a modern service-industry urban area, he added.
Hung Yen Chairman Tran Quoc Van requested relevant agencies to work with The Trump Organization to proceed with administrative procedures quickly.
Vietnam has about 80 golf courses and 150,000 golfers. The first golf course in the country was Da Lat Palace Golf Club in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong, while the biggest is Royal Golf Course in the northern province of Ninh Binh.
As of January, an additional 98 golf course projects had been approved in the country, while 160 others are pending approval.
