Larsen and Toubro (L&T) on Wednesday announced that its Heavy Civil Infrastructure vertical has secured an order from Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (UPMRCL) for the design and construction of Agra Metro Phase 1, Line-2. The stretch will run from Agra Cantonment to Kalindi Vihar.
The scope of work, the company said, involves design and construction of a vital 15.09 km elevated viaduct, 14 stations and 2.61 km depot connecting the metro line from Sadar Bazar to PAC Depot. Architectural finishes for the stations, as well as electrical & mechanical works are also in scope.
The project is to be completed within a stringent timeline of 30 months.

This project will leverage L&T’s extensive expertise in engineering and high-quality execution.”
According to the company, the value of significant order is between Rs 1000 crore and Rs 2500 crore, large orders are worth Rs 2500 crore- Rs 5000 crore, major orders are in the range of Rs 5000 crore- Rs 7000 crore and mega orders are worth above Rs 7000 crore.
Earlier in July, L&T had posted its fiscal first quarter earnings with profit at Rs 2785.72 crore, up 11.7 per cent as compared to Rs 2493.00 crore recorded during the corresponding quarter of FY24. It posted revenue from operations at Rs 55,119.82 crore, up 15.1 per cent as against Rs 47,882.37 crore posted during the first quarter of previous financial year, with robust execution witnessed in the Projects & Manufacturing (P&M) portfolio on the back of a large order book.
