Telecommunications services provider Bharti Airtel announced the appointment of Sharat Sinha as the CEO of Airtel Business, with effect from 3rd June 2024. In this role, Sharat Sinha will report to Gopal Vittal and will be a part of the Airtel Management Board.
Sharat Sinha joins Airtel Business from Checkpoint Software Technologies Limited, where he served as President of Asia Pacific. A seasoned technology professional, he has also worked with Palo Alto Networks, Cisco, and VMWare in various leadership roles. His early experiences in Ericsson and VSNL have also given him a sound telecom background, the company stated.

Earlier this month, Bharti Airtel reported its fiscal fourth quarter profit at Rs 2071.60 crore, down 31.1 per cent on-year in comparison to Rs 3005.60 crore during the corresponding quarter of last year. It had posted revenue from operations at Rs 37,599.10 crore, up 4.4 per cent as against Rs 36,009.00 crore during the fourth quarter of FY23. The consolidated revenue was impacted by currency devaluation in Africa, particularly Nigerian Naira.
