Thailand’s top industrial park (IP) developer WHA will soon commence work on two industrial parks in Vietnam’s central province of Thanh Hoa and study to build three more.
A WHA delegation, led by chairperson Jareeporn Jarukornsakul, made the commitment at a Tuesday working session with Thanh Hoa authorities, on the sidelines of an MoU signing ceremony between the two sides. WHA started studying the projects in 2019.
The two industrial parks are WHA Smart Technology-Thanh Hoa and WHA Smart Technology 2.
The former project was approved by the Prime Minister in late 2024 and is set to cover 178.51 hectares in Hoang Hoa district. The latter will cover 174.9 hectares within Giang Quang Thinh Industrial Park in Thieu Hoa district and is processing administrative procedures.
Jareeporn Jarukornsakul urged Thanh Hoa authorities to grant lands for WHA Smart Technology-Thanh Hoa project in Q1/2025 to help the firm deploy the project in Q2/2025.
In reply, Thanh Hoa Vice Chairman Nguyen Van Thi said provincial authorities would facilitate WHA activities.
Thanh Hoa authorities and WHA also signed an MoU on developing three more facilities in Thieu Hoa district. They are Long Duy Giang Industrial Park covering 300-400 hectares, Long Cong Thanh Industrial Park of 300 hectares, and a logistics service park of 50 hectares.
WHA has invested $310 million in Vietnam since 2017 and aims to raise the figure to $1 billion. The company’s industrial estate business in Vietnam currently spans 3,650 hectares of operational and under-construction industrial zones, including the operational WHA Industrial Zone 1 in Nghe An which covers 500 hectares.
